What It Means To Empty Your Mind In Meditation.

Learn to achieve “empty mind” and meditate with ease.
Learn to connect with your intuition and the spirit world.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO EMPTY YOUR MIND IN MEDITATION.What does it mean to empty one’s mind during meditation? It is not really possible to think of nothing. Our mind produces thoughts all the time. They shoot across our consciousness non-stop when we are awake as well as in dreams when we are asleep. This process is so automatic, we sometimes don’t realize it or we get “lost in thought.” The main goal of meditation is to get into a meditative state of mind where thoughts don’t keep us occupied. Instead of us making thoughts, we need to be able to receive them from the “outside” (the spirit world). We can imagine it as having a “calmness” of the mind. I have always struggled with this. I used to argue with myself trying to figure out what exactly it means to meditate. I used to think there was no way I was one of those people who could meditate with ease. It used be a struggle and chore. Every book I’ve read on meditation gave very simple instructions how to do it. I used to ask myself how come it sounded so easy on paper and so difficult (if not impossible!) to do. Over the years of trying and practicing, I have come to an enlightening conclusion and I can safely say that meditation looks more difficult than it really is! The secret is its simplicity. There is really not much to it. It’s not an exact science. You don’t have to follow a formula. It doesn’t mean your meditative efforts are not going to work if you follow someone else’s instructions, but you don’t follow them to the letter. In the beginning of your practice – yes, do follow someone else’s suggestions, but over time, you will develop your own way of emptying your mind. Meditation is a very simple and easy process. The more we do it, the easier it gets – until the time when it happens almost immediately just by thinking about it. If we want to be successful at it, we have to accept the easiness of it. (Some things in life don’t have to be difficult, :D).

Try it out

I am going to show you how to empty your mind with least amount of resistance. Follow my instructions and let me know how you do. Anyone can reach a meditative state with ease. You can too! Trust me on this. Try it out!

Let me get into what it means to meditate.

To meditate, it means that we do not get carried away by our random thoughts. What is important is that we will not start thinking about what to do that evening or what our boss told us this afternoon. We stay focused on the task of meditation.

n-MINDFULNESS-PRACTICE-largeWe want to reach a point of calmness that feels as if our mind is empty of thought. In reality, there are always going to be thoughts running through our head, but we must not let them disturb us. Imagine your calmness as a place – the eye of a hurricane. It is the place that is empty. It could be all black or all white. It could be blue like the cloudless summer sky. It can be of any color you want. My favorite color for this purpose is black. Please try to do it the way I do it the first few times and later, adjust the imagery the way it feels good to you. Imagine you are in space and there are only teeny tiny stars in the distance. They are so far away, though, that they are almost invisible. There is only blackness around you – the perfect place to be at peace and ready to receive messages from the spirit world. This black space is a good space. There are no negative emotions present. Actually, there are no emotions there, period. The color black is black because it has absorbed all the other colors (the white color is the absence of color). So, since it contains all the colors in existence, there is nothing left to disturb you. In this perfect calm place of black, you may see random thoughts swirling around you, but not really touching you or sticking to your consciousness. If one thought holds your attention to the point that you find yourself outside of your calm place, simply release this thought. Let it go and go back to your calm, empty space of your mind.

An important thing to realize is that the random thoughts are always going to be there, but the difference is in what we do about them. We need to learn to acknowledge them, “Ok, I see you are here…” and let them go in the same instant they appear, “…and now you can move on.” This needs to happen instantaneously. If you get caught by one thought for a few seconds, don’t beat yourself up for it. Acknowledge the thought and let it go. Go back to your free space.

If you are having trouble imagining a black space, try to imagine standing in front of a large blackboard. This blackboard is as large as you need it to be. The spirit world will use this blackboard to write messages on. The blackboard can also work as a movie screen where you will watch the “movies” the spirit world wants to show you (The movies are clairvoyant messages meant for you to see).

Don’t feel bad and definitely don not give up if you feel like you can’t hold the emptiness for more than only a few seconds. It’s okay! Eventually, you will get there. You have to be patient with yourself and don’t push yourself too hard. It’s not a race or a competition. It’s a development of your extra sensory skills. It doesn’t happen overnight. Also, please remember that it may feel like you are imagining everything at first. That’s good! Go along with it.

You have to learn to hold this state of mind for at least 5 minutes. Start by staying in your empty space for one minute. Take it easy and don’t look at the clock – set a timer, but don’t wait for it to start ringing. Detach yourself from the timer. Forget that it’s ticking. You should practice this exercise enough times until you feel comfortable in this state of emptiness. You should feel comfortable and strong holding your empty mind until the timer goes off. If you keep failing time and time again, examine yourself without judgment. You may not be doing as badly as you think. Which thoughts keep kicking you out of it? Perhaps it will help if you write them down on a piece of paper so you don’t forget them. That way, these thoughts won’t intrude and stress you out. When you feel like you can hold this concentration for a minute with ease, hold it for three, then five minutes.

Eventually, in this empty space, you will be able to meet your spirit guide, communicate with deceased loved ones, or receive messages from any kind of good spirit that comes from the light.

How did you do?

Were you able to achieve the “emptiness” of your mind? Let me know your thoughts! Every time you come out of your meditation, you should be feeling calmer and more at peace.

Why read with a dark Tarot deckA dark deck is a Tarot deck that has dark, gothic, or macabre depictions of the cards. It still follows the traditional imagery of the Raider-Waite Tarot, only its cards don’t look happy and upbeat. They look depressed, scary, or gothic-like.

It unlocks the deeper layers of our intuition. The dark deck is just like any other Tarot deck, only it dares us to go farther than where we usually go. Like the skin of an onion, we need to peel off the positive and upbeat messages that start coming off the card. It’s automatic we want to stay as close to our comfort zone as possible. That means, “No crazy depressing stuff, please.” We don’t want to see the bad news. And that’s good! It’s excellent actually. We are lightworkers and our primary mission is to spread goodness throughout the world. However, have you been feeling like you want to expand your reading abilities and dig deeper? Or have you been thinking something in terms, “What if there is something more I can find in the cards?” Maybe you have wanted to do something different in your Tarot practice; something exciting, exhilarating. Reading with dark decks doesn’t have to grow into a long term relationship. It can be just a one-night stand or a short-term affair. It’s worth trying out.

Look closer at the imagery and listen to your inner self. Open your mind to the possibility that you can, indeed, read about something less positive than usual. Allow yourself to see that creepy man in the Ten of Pentacles. He could be a stalker or saboteur. He could represent the “stalker in you.” You have been watching your colleague, for example, and secretly seething because she’s been making the right moves and your boss is starting to prefer her suggestions. You may be feeling jealous and want to use every opportunity to sabotage her success. Like the creepy man in the picture, you are bidding your time until that moment when you can take your shot and wreck your competition. You greatest obstacle in life could be the fact that you always look at the others and compare yourself to them. As a result, you always feel like you are never good enough.

Or there is a man who wants the other person to notice him. You pull the King of Cups. Your positive self would automatically start thinking how the individual represented by the King has a calming and upbeat personality and how there’s no room for drama. That’s all fine, but don’t just end there. Dare to go deeper. Don’t be afraid to turn around a dark corner to see what’s hiding there. If we take a look at the King of cups from one of my dark decks, we see the creepy Count Dracula staring at his next victim. Could it be Mina? It could, but we don’t know for sure. What if this King of Cups has a twisted idea of what love is? What if he is a vampire ready to feed off of his next lover-victim? A relationship may be so intense that one partner is literally sucking the life out of the other. One partner could have very dark thoughts about how his relationship should be: not as partnership, but him being the “maker of the rules” all the time. There may be a danger of strong unhealthy dependency in the relationship. One of the partners could be emotionally abusive or there is a risk of him changing 180 degrees (from a sweet person to an abusive monster) right after they start dating (or get married). The love and infatuation are all-encompassing and intense so much that the King of Cups doesn’t see anything and anyone else. He is rules by his emotions completely. In the worst case scenario, the dark King of cups could be a sociopath, caring about nothing but himself and he uses his partner only to support his own agenda.

When we look at the Three of Swords, the card has somewhat negative meaning in a regular deck, but in the dark deck, the meaning could be so much more negative. In a dark reading, it could mean that the person in question is feeling so depressed he or she is thinking of suicide. Or this person has twisted and scary thinking and likes to kills animals. Could this person be a psychopath? Or is this person going through some dark emotional turmoil, all he or she can think about it death? Is this person trying to harm himself in order to feel better? Is his heart so broken, it will never mend completely? One’s thoughts could be going around and around trying to get away from the painful subject, but with no success. Eventually, the thoughts always come back to the source of the mental and emotional pain. Perhaps, medication is needed to help fix the mental problem. Perhaps we are dealing with chronic feelings of sadness and doom.

Let’s overcome our reluctance to read about something negative. We all have a dark side. Even if we don’t let these kinds of thoughts and emotions out, they can’t be denied. They do influence us. Reading with the dark deck, unlocks the hidden, scary, and maybe even embarrassing part of us. Reversed Tarot cards of a traditional deck provide us with negative interpretations to some extent, but the traditional imagery doesn’t support the dark and scary angle very much. Only the dark deck can do that without inhibitions. We get a proverbial permission to dwell on the negative by looking at the imagery of the cards and by the fact that we know we are using the dark deck. We can draw strength from it – we overcome our fear of the unknown and that it gives us courage and strength in return. Moreover, there is no need to read with reversals in dark decks. The cards in the upright position give us all we need.

I find reading with dark decks a very enlightening experience. I have been able to open my mind to the possibilities of darker interpretations and deepen my knowledge of Tarot. I have become a stronger reader. I am not afraid to see something deeply disturbing or negative in the cards. I understand, now, that there is nothing wrong with reading these kinds of cards and if I write my interpretations down in a non-offensive way to a client, he or she will benefit from the insight. For example, I did a reading about a man and I pulled the Page of Swords for him. I allowed myself to see everything coming to me from the card. I could clearly feel and see that he had deep mental problems. The Page of Swords gave me a lot of information: I described all the symptoms along with the accompanying destructive behavior the man in question had been expressing. I concluded he suffered from schizophrenia. He was completely under control of his mental illness. He was not using any medication. My interpretation was later confirmed to the letter.

One of the great places to do “dark readings” is a “DDT” reading exchange on Aeclectic.net. – The largest source of information and place to practice reading Tarot in the world.

There are many dark decks available. My favorite ones are Bohemian Gothic Tarot and The Gothic Tarot. There are many other great decks you can choose from like Dark Angels Tarot, The Dark Grimoire Tarot, Necronomicon TarotAlchemical Wedding Tarot, and the very popular The Steampunk Tarot.

How do you feel about dark Tarot decks? Do you own one? If so, which one is it? Why do you like your dark deck? Do you read with it often? Does this deck help you unlock deeper parts of your intuition? Share your thoughts and experience with me.

Why Is Working On Your Spirituality Worth It?

Why Is Working On Your Spirituality Worth It_I was lead to Tarot gently and once I started working with it, I was hooked. I remember as a child, I was fascinated by every show on TV where a hero or heroine had some special abilities. I wanted to be just like them. Little did I know that I had talents of my own. From my personal experience, I have concluded that we are drawn to what we are good at and will excel at in life. Many of us, however, are taught to push this drive aside because “more important” things and skills are required of us to master so we can make a living. People around us, starting with our parents and relatives, ask us, “Do you make any money doing that?” It takes the wind out of our sails, doesn’t it? It makes us question that inner drive we feel inside. It makes us turn away from our inner guidance that’s trying to lead us towards meeting our highest potential.

On the other hand, do we make money doing the traditional and socially accepted jobs in the beginning? No. It takes a lot of time, study, dedication, and commitment to gain a proper training in order to perform a job. So, for example, if someone asks you if you make any money reading cards, you don’t have to answer it. Remember that many times people feel miserable in their jobs and don’t make hardly any money. They are in a lose-lose situation. You, on the other hand, will never be in a lose-lose situation. It’s always going to be a win-win for you. You are doing what you love and what is in harmony with your Higher Self (with your purpose). That, in itself, nurtures you and makes you enjoy your life. The nurturing aspect doesn’t have to be monetary, but it could be. And The Law Attraction is clear on this: If you love what you do, you will attract more positive things into your life. The abundance and prosperity are always results of following your Higher Self (your intuition). Perhaps, making a living by reading Tarot takes a little more time than doing a regular job, but that doesn’t mean we should completely discount it as non-realistic. Before the money starts coming in, we will already feel rich by following our inner guidance, pursuing our highest potential, and fulfilling our purpose in life. That in itself is quite satisfying.

We should always do what makes us happy and so, even if we do have to have a regular job, we should never push that inner drive into the background only to never revisit it again. We should keep the drive alive always no matter what the circumstances are. It’s very important we do so because we are drawn to go this way for a reason. One of the reasons is that the spirit world is trying to tell us we are capable of having it all: the regular job as well as working with our spiritual talents. Perhaps, we could use our inner guidance to help us reach our highest potential in our regular job. But, what if combining them isn’t possible? What if your job is something like answering the phone and making bookings all day? You may tell yourself, “There is no chance to use my spiritual talents here.” I say, that’s okay. What matters is that despite the reality of your life (your circumstances), you still don’t discount your spiritual aspirations. You do your best to learn about them and develop your spiritual talents whenever you can: after work or on the weekend.

You can find out which psychic talent is the strongest by mediation and practice. Then, you work with it as much as you can, whenever you have a chance. After a while, you will discover that you have more than one strong psychic talent. The intention to develop it and see where it can lead you is the most important element here.

I have always heard my inner voice telling me there was more to the world than what meets the eye. It was very uncommon for people to talk about the existence of ghosts or having psychic abilities at that time. The Internet wasn’t widely available as it is now. As a result, I didn’t have any point of reference to what I had been experiencing for many years. And so I didn’t talk about my experiences with anyone, but I was still hungry to learn about them as much as possible. I soaked up every glimpse of information I could get – mostly from TV. I didn’t discount my inner voice as useless or I didn’t tell myself, “What is it good for if I don’t make money doing it?” How many of you have done that? You haven’t worked on your spiritual talents for years because you believed the quote above? Don’t listen to nay-sayers. They don’t know you; moreover, they don’t want you to succeed.

The Internet is widely available now. It’s the best source of information in the world! Take advantage of it, use it. Find information about your spiritual gifts and learn how you can use them. Our psychic, intuitive, or other spiritual gifts are an integral part of us. We can make the world a better place if we know what they are and how to use them properly and effectively (and not be afraid of them). We can make our lives better as well. We will attract our dream results to us. We can be happy; we can become more self-aware. By being self-aware, I mean we will be able to sense in more detail what is happening around us, how people around us feel, or what is going to happen next. Consequently, we will be much more in-tune with our own reactions to what’s happening around us. We will be able to let go of emotional response; we will rise above it. We will become more tolerant and detached, and less drama oriented and impulsive.  That, in return, will make us more resilient against negative energy and life will feel like it’s full of opportunities and happy coincidences.
